Almost everyone loves to be the recipient of free stuff. Free ringtones are no exception to this rule. Apple sells 30-second snippets of some of the favorite songs for iPhone users to download, but these ringtones are not free. While it is a nominal fee (typically about $1), free is free, and paying for a ringtone is paying for a ringtone. Besides the paid ringtones or free ringtones you can download online, your cell phone typically comes with free ringtones preloaded.
Free ringtones come in more varieties than 30-second snippets of a song you have to pay to obtain. Some of the options for free ringtones include top hit songs from the radio, TV show theme songs, funny sounds, and favorite sayings.

  • Radio Songs

Whether your music genre of choice is country, top 40, pop, rock, or oldies, you can find a free ringtone to fit the bill. The newer the song is, the less likely it is that you will find the ringtone for free.

  • TV Show Theme Songs

Some of your favorite songs may be theme songs to TV shows. Again, the older the TV show, the better your chances are of finding the theme online as a free ringtone.

  • Funny Sounds

Free ringtones also come in a variety of funny noises and sounds. Some of them are so funny that when your phone starts “ringing” you’ll see people all around you wondering what the noise is and where it is coming from.

  • Favorite Sayings

Whether you’re a child of the ’60, ‘70s, ‘80s or ‘90s, each era has its own set of lingo. You can find phrases, sayings, or expressions from certain time periods in the form of free ringtones. Imagine your phone saying “Dynomite” as it alerts you that someone is calling.

The path to eliminating debt, much like the path to enlightenment, can be a road filled with obstacles, traps and pitfalls, or a freshly paved lane with nary a bump. However, unless you have a mystical method of foretelling lottery numbers, or unless your favorite rich uncle is on his death bed, you will need some kind of strategy for becoming debt free. Too often, going deeper into debt makes it ever harder to get out. Missed payments cause interest rates to increase, raising your monthly payment at the worst possible time. Let’s look at a couple ways with which to get rid of your debt once and for all.

1. Debt Consolidation

Most people with heavy debt burdens created their debt by utilizing a variety of credit products: cards, car loans, personal loans and more. For those with organizational problems, this profligacy makes missing a payment more likely, due to the sheer number of bills coming in. Moreover, psychologically, it can be isolating to think of yourself as one person battling several creditors. Consolidating your debt into one monthly payment can be more effective. Though you will end up paying the consolidation company a fee for doing so, they’ll be able to negotiate lower interest rates with your creditors and suspend late fees and over limit fees. In the end, consolidating will probably save you more money than it costs.

2. Limit Spending

Force yourself to list all of your monthly expenditures: car payment, house payment, cable bill, babysitter – everything. Once it’s all on paper in front of you, you must accept the reality of how much money is going out every month, and you’ll find it easier to reduce or eliminate certain items. However, if you don’t take this step, it will be harder to do. Looking at your expenses in the light of day gives you more power over them.

SAT testing season can be a stressful time for students and parents alike. The need for high scores to secure a spot in a prestigious university puts pressure on students to perform at their highest levels. Some students do very well with standardized tests, but for those who don’t, the pressure to do better can be burdensome. The good news is that there are many SAT prep resources available for students to improve scores and test-taking skills.

There are a number of books and CD/DVDs available for students who are motivated enough to study on their own. These can work well for some, though with regular schoolwork, homework and other pressures on students, it can be easy for these self-study courses to fall through the cracks.

Attending a SAT prep class, either in person or online, is an effective method because it requires a specific time commitment. There are also teachers, and sometime other students, to answer questions and discuss topics of concern. Signing up for one of these types of courses is often the best path for test success. Also, many courses will offer guarantees of higher scores and will refund tuition fees if scores don’t improve. This can be a nice guarantee for parents, ensuring that their money is being well spent.

Whatever the method, it is important to go into the test as prepared as possible. There are many fairly simple things any student can do to prepare. Review math formulas and principles. Study vocabulary words and review reading comprehension skills. Take practice tests often and focus on areas where scores are not improving. Most importantly, on the day of the test, stay calm and focused. Don’t let stress or anxiety distract you from reading each question carefully and considering each answer. Relax and focus and you should perform well!

You have a great job when suddenly your boss calls you into his office and lays you off. What do you do? Follow this guide and you’ll be prepared for the road ahead.

Step One: Kill with Kindness
After the big kiss-off, the first thing to do is – despite the almost overwhelming desire to stomp the floor and break all your former employer’s pencils – shake his hand. Always end on cordial note. Being nice may lead to new connections. In addition, being nice keeps security from escorting you off the premises.

Step Two: Gather the Troops
More than likely, you’ll have a day or two before you’re officially out of a job. Take that time to do work. Ignore those last calls or that spreadsheet. Instead, address your financial sandbags. Print out coupons on the office printer. File for unemployment. Do some research on ways to save money. Sites like moneysavingguide.com offer tips and tricks that will make the interim between jobs as painless as possible.

Step Three: Pillage!
Next, there are many tools that you will need and that your office has just laying around. Paper, for example. Most career experts will suggest on applying to at least twenty jobs per day. Even in the age of the Internet, some places will demand snail mail or at least a fax. A ream of paper is nothing to your employer whereas to you could be the ticket to your dream job! Also, get as much toilet paper as you can. Stores may charge up to $2.00 for a roll of toilet paper. Think of it as part of your severance package.

It’s going to be tough from here on out but if you took the time to stock up while you could, it will be a little easier. Good luck!

Why Choose Frontline Plus?

If you own a puppy or dog, you want to keep your pet safe, healthy, and happy. Fleas and ticks can make your dog miserable, as well as possibly cause serious illnesses. Frontline Plus, a once-a-month product, will help you protect your furry friend. Designed for topical application, Frontline Plus controls fleas and ticks, killing 100 percent of adult fleas within 18 hours and 100 percent of all ticks within 48 hours. Frontline Plus also has an ingredient to eliminate the flea eggs and larvae.

Available for use on all dogs over eight weeks old, Frontline Plus utilizes fipronil, a broad-spectrum insecticide and slow-acting poison, to destroy fleas and ticks, and s-methoprene, which kills flea eggs and larvae, preventing future infestations of these annoying pests. With Frontline Plus, the fipronil actually hyper-stimulates the fleas, so they will probably seem overactive just before they die. Frontline Plus also takes care of all four major ticks that can transmit Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Because the active ingredients stay in the sebaceous glands and are excreted through the hair follicles, Frontline Plus is continuously re-applied to the coat for lasting, waterproof protection throughout the month. Frontline Plus has been proven safe for puppies over eight weeks as well as lactating and pregnant dogs.

To apply Frontline Plus, separate your dog’s hair, place the applicator tip in between the shoulder blades and apply the entire vial in that location. Don’t rub in the solution, as that will lessen the effectiveness of the medication. With Frontline Plus, you can bath your pet as usual, but wait for at least 48 hours after the application for best results. Most people begin using Frontline Plus as the weather heats up, from early spring to late summer, since that is the prime time for fleas and ticks.

When unexpected expenses come up and you don’t have the cash you need, emergency loans can help you through the tough time. Things happen and we aren’t always financially prepared for them. Medical emergencies can take a toll on your pocketbook. Perhaps your car—your only transportation to your job—breaks down and needs a major repair. Your old refrigerator might suddenly give up and quit working.

Many people in the same situation as you have turned to emergency loans to help get them through a financial crunch. These might include single parents who find themselves short of money and are having trouble making ends meet until the end of the month, even finding it difficult to feed their children. Perhaps the utility bill needs to be paid, and the provider is threatening to turn off the power. Working students, part-time workers and minimum wage workers have tight budgets, and they may find themselves in need of some quick cash.

Emergency loans are a no-hassle way to get the money you need. Many lenders allow you to apply online. This means you don’t have to wait in any lines. You won’t have to provide multitudes of paperwork or fax documents to the bank. The online process also speeds up the loan process. Once you’ve filled out your application, which can be done in a matter of minutes, you will get an answer almost immediately. Upon approval of your loan, you’ll be told how much you can borrow and what your interest rate and fees are. A typical loan amount for these types of loans ranges from $250 to $2500.

Emergency loan companies also provide a variety of convenient payment options such as automatic withdrawl from your checking account or a payroll deduction. From the application process to making your payments, these loans are all about convenience and quick access to cash.

A staple of any cheesy movie set in the jungle is the scene where somebody falls victim to the enormous, man-eating plant. Obviously this scene is impossible, plants are still nowhere near the point of hunting or eating people, but its inspirations are as real as they are fascinating. Carnivorous plants, parasitic plants, and other violent flora are found on most continents, and by now have been fairly well documented. Here are some of the coolest.
